You Build the Vision. We Can Help With the Hard Parts.

Windows, extended-range fuel tanks, and heaters that tap the chassis tank are the three jobs DIY builders most often hand over. Here is what the Boulder service center can take off your list.

CR Laurence van window unit ready for installation

The short answer

You do not have to abandon a DIY build to get professional help with the hard parts. The Titan Vans Service Center in Boulder installs CR Laurence windows, extended-range fuel tanks, and Webasto heaters that tap the chassis fuel tank on customer-owned vans — and will review electrical and plumbing work you have already started. Build the parts you enjoy; hand over the parts where a mistake is permanent.

There is a particular satisfaction in building your own camper van. You choose the layout, you learn how the systems work, and you make every decision with your own trips in mind.

Timber Van Kits exists to help you do exactly that. But even the most capable DIY builder eventually hits a project that needs specialized tools, awkward access, or real experience with vehicle systems. That is where Titan Vans Service comes in — a service center in Boulder, Colorado, staffed by people who work on camper vans every day.

You can build the parts you enjoy and bring us the jobs where professional installation makes sense.

What can Titan Vans help with on a DIY build?

1. Installing CR Laurence van windows

Windows are one of the most common DIY projects that make an owner pause, and they deserve that hesitation. Installing one means cutting into the body of the van, protecting the exposed metal, establishing a weather-resistant seal, and making the finished installation work with the interior.

We have written about why we use CR Laurence windows — they are designed around OEM window openings, with properly engineered sealing and automotive safety certification. The same article makes the point that matters here: cutting a hole in your van is permanent. If you are not fully comfortable doing it safely, handing it over is the smart call, not a defeat.

Tell us which window model you have and which van you are working on, and we will talk through the installation requirements.

2. Installing an extended-range fuel tank

An extended-range fuel tank is a major improvement for a van that spends time far from fuel stations. It is also technically involved: the correct tank, mounting method, fuel-system connection, and procedure all depend on your platform and the specific product.

We offer extended-range fuel tank installations, including for the Ford Transit. If your build would benefit from more range, we can help work out whether the installation suits your vehicle.

3. Installing a heater that taps the chassis fuel tank

A parking heater is one of the best upgrades for cold-weather camping, and one that draws fuel from the chassis tank is especially convenient — no separate tank to fill or find space for.

It also involves more than mounting a heater. Fuel supply, electrical connection, exhaust routing, combustion air, mounting location, and interior air distribution all have to be considered together. We install compatible Webasto heaters that tap the OEM fuel tank, including Webasto STC2000 and EVO 40 diesel heaters and compatible gasoline heater installations.

4. Electrical and plumbing you have already started

We can review electrical and plumbing installations or troubleshoot work in progress. Send details of your existing system, what you have completed, and where you are stuck.

What to send us

The more we know, the more useful our first answer is. Include:

  • Your van — make, model, year, wheelbase, and roof height.
  • What you have already completed.
  • The installation or problem you need help with.
  • Photos of the relevant areas.
  • Any instructions, wiring diagrams, or product information you have.

What if I want to do most of the work myself?

That is completely fine, and it is the point. A DIY build should be something you understand and are proud of.

You may want to install your own cabinetry, insulation, electrical, and plumbing, and simply need help with a window cut, a fuel tank, or a heater. Our service department can help you identify which work makes sense to hand off and which you can confidently finish yourself. We are happy to explain what a project involves and what we would need to perform the installation.

A good service experience should leave you with a better understanding of your van — not just a completed invoice.
