Lowest Price. Most Storage. Highest Quality. Pick Three.

A spec-by-spec comparison against Geotrek and DM Vans at their own published prices — where the $16,000 difference actually comes from, and the two things both competitors include that we do not.

Rear garage of a Timber camper van loaded with gear, doors open

The short answer

The Timber Camp starts at $31,485 professionally installed — roughly $16,000 less than the nearest comparable conversion — with more chassis options and a modular bed neither competitor includes. The savings come from in-house CNC manufacturing and made-to-order production, not from cheaper materials.

The standard line in this industry is that you get two out of three: lowest price, most storage, highest quality — pick two. We have never accepted that, because the trade-off is not a law of physics. It is a symptom of how most shops manufacture.

The price

The Camp starts at $31,485, professionally installed. For comparison, using each company’s published pricing for their closest equivalent model:

Timber Camp Geotrek Flatiron DM Vans LV5
Price $31,485 $47,950 $38,800
Li-ion battery Yes Yes Yes
Solar Yes Yes Yes
Alternator charging Yes Yes Yes
Grey water Yes Yes Yes
Heater Yes Yes Yes
Rear shower Yes Yes Yes
Modular bed Yes — —
Sprinter available Yes Yes —
Transit available Yes — —
ProMaster available Yes — Yes

That is roughly $16,000 less than the nearest comparable, with more chassis options and a modular bed neither competitor includes.

Where the savings come from

Not from cheaper parts. From manufacturing.

Everything is CNC-milled in our Boulder facility from our own files, made to order. No prototyping each van by hand, no rework, no paying for a supplier’s lead time. Precision is cheaper than craftsmanship-by-eye once you have built the tooling — that is the whole insight, and it is why the comparison above is not a quality trade.

The storage

Overhead cabinetry, wheel-well cabinetry, and a telescoping bed system that is the real storage story. Because the bed moves rather than sitting fixed, the space under it adapts — bikes one weekend, a full garage the next.

Add a headliner shelf ($695) or a slide-out tray ($1,295) if you want more.

The quality

  • Precision-cut Baltic birch with a high-pressure laminate finish
  • Marine-grade fridge and freezer
  • Thermal-acoustic insulation
  • Hardware chosen to stay tight over rough terrain

Every conversion is installed by Titan Vans or an approved builder.

The honest caveat

The Camp does not include an induction cooktop or a cassette toilet as standard — both competitors include one or the other. The toilet is a $395 add.

We would rather show you the whole table than the flattering half of it. If you are comparing builders, here are the six questions we would ask all of us.

Frequently asked questions

How much is a Timber camper van conversion?

The Camp starts at $31,485 and the Rambler at $34,485, professionally installed, not including the chassis.

Why is Timber less expensive than other van conversions?

In-house CNC manufacturing and made-to-order production, not lower-grade materials. Cutting components from our own files in our own Boulder facility removes hand-prototyping, rework, and supplier lead times from the cost.

Is there storage under the bed in a Timber conversion?

Yes. The telescoping bed system moves rather than sitting fixed, so the garage space underneath adapts to what you are hauling — bikes one weekend, bulk gear the next.

Does the Timber Camp include a toilet?

Not as standard. A cassette toilet is available as a $395 add-on. An induction cooktop is also not included as standard.
